Simple answer is both, nothing beats the feel of drawing in a sketch book. The sound of the graphite on paper is therapeutic, but I love the the refinement of a digital image. If I'm just doodling it will always be in a sketch book I have two one to doodle and one for Instagram etc. If I'm doing a digital image I normally have an idea already so the sketching side is always a little different. By different I mean not as organic now I'm not dissing it at all I love digital sketching but is is a different process, it hasn't got the feel of a sketch book yet you can clean it up easier with layers and such, and yet both medias have parts you can cross over. Digital can teach you how to do correct line work as you can always undo, yet knowledge of the actual physical paints will help you digital painting. There's no straight forward answer I was a long time naysayer of digital but over the years the technology has advanced so much its as organic as it can be. I suppose in short its all in the projects and which media suits it best, digital or traditional its just fun to create.
Stay awesome
